The Youth Saber (Y10AXS, Y12AXS, Y14AGS) at George Platt's Swordplay (GPS) has been moved to Saturday February 16 from Sunday February 17. Location is still the same and check-in close times will be posted soon. Please check the event calendar for more information on location and times (when posted).

Those who are contemplating going to San Diego (Escondido) for the Youth PCCs should take a look at Southwest Airlines for flights. It's $39 each way from SFO! (Adding all the security fees and such, it's $99 round trip.)

The Youth Pacific Coast Championships 2008 are scheduled for March 1-2 weekend in Escondido, CA. Venue is the San Diego Fencing Center.

Welcome to the 2007-2008 fencing season in the Bay Area. The schedule has been posted (there's still some bugs to be fixed, but generally things are up). The locations of the competitions through end of January are now posted. The locations for the latter half of the season will be determined later on using a different venue selection process.

Here are some details of all Bay Cup events:

* Earliest check-in close time is 10AM

* Entry fee is $20/event (or less if the host club is offering discounts)

* Bay Cup Registration fee is $10/event. You may purchase a season-pass registration pack for $45/age category. There are three age categories: Junior (Y10/Y12/Y14/Cadet/Junior), Senior and Veteran. You may purchase a season-pass registration pack for all age categories for $80. Thus, the fees are virtually similar to what it was 3+ years ago (with the exception of a $5 increase). Please keep receipt for the season-pass purchase to present at future Bay Cup events until your name is posted on the Bay Cup registrant list.

* This season, we encourage fencers to referee in events that they are not participating in. So if you go to a JAMF/Y14ABF event and you're 17 years old, you won't be able to fence in the Y14 Boys' Foil, but perhaps you can help referee. Please contact the host organizer before the date (as soon as possible, if you can) to let the organizer know of your availability. Host organizers will let you know as soon as possible as well, whether they need your services. If you help referee, you will have ONE entry fee for that date waived and paid $30 for each event you officiate in. (So, if there are three events, you compete in one and referee the two others, you will not have to pay your entry fee and you will be paid $60.) Part of being a good fencer is learning how to officiate.
